Written by sincera | Aug 21, 2020 6:07:09 PM

Sincera has helped families in the region for over three decades and we remain committed to the treatment and care of our patients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We understand that this has disrupted the lives of millions across the world, and we know first-hand the additional stress this has put on your family building plans. Our ultimate goal, as always, is to ensure the health and safety of our patients and their loved ones. To keep you informed, we’ve listed the most frequently asked questions regarding fertility and COVID-19 below.

1. Is your office closed? When will treatment cycles resume?
Sincera remains open and is here for you. We resumed treatments and testing as of May 1. We will continue to maintain appropriate social distancing and safety measures to protect both our patients and staff for in person appointments.

2. Will delaying treatment affect my chances of conceiving?
We know that any additional delay in conception is extremely difficult for our patients. While the emotional aspect is certainly stressful, for most patients, postponing treatment for 1-2 months will not have an impact on overall success rates.

3. What can I do during the pandemic to start/continue building my family?
Telemedicine consultations are available to new patients and current patients who want to discuss their testing results, next steps or further details of treatment.

4. Does COVID-19 impact fertility?
Currently, there is no data or scientific evidence to suggest that COVID-19 impacts fertility or early pregnancy.

5. Are my frozen embryos, eggs or sperm safe?
Any cryopreserved embryos, eggs, or sperm are safely stored. There is no immediate threat to their safety.

6. Is fertility preservation for cancer patients still being offered?
Yes. Those who are facing an urgent need for fertility preservation can still proceed. This includes both egg and sperm freezing.

7. I’m having a difficult time emotionally. What resources are available to me?
We understand the uncertainty and stress that you may be experiencing. We work with Lynn Cohen LCSW and Jenn Riley LCSW, licensed family and marriage therapists who is offering online or phone consultations, to give you the support you need during this time.

The safety of you and your loved ones is what means the most to us. We are here for you through every step of your journey. You can connect with a Sincera provider today via telemedicine, or contact us with any additional questions.
